Snoop and Kweli help Buzz Aldrin drop a Hip Hop space jam. They also reminisce about the classic beef between earthwalkers and moonwalkers. Shit is deep.
[Edit: Speaking of space jams, Aldrin might get a few lyrical pointers from R. Kelly’s “Sex Planet.” Enjoy:

Time Lapse Video of the Night Sky Over Texas
If you haven’t been impressed by space in the last week, then I just don’t know what we’re going to do with you.
From the video’s description:
Time lapse video of night sky as it passes over the 2009 Texas Star Party in Fort Davis, Texas. The galactic core of Milky Way is brightly displayed. Images taken with 15mm fisheye lens.

Space Shuttle Silhoutted Against the Sun

Has this been one hell of a week for awesome space photography or what?
Apparently, this one was an amateur shot too.
The extraordinary photos were taken by Thierry Legault, an engineer famed for his pictures of space taken in his yard in Paris.
He took his latest image in Florida, 60 miles south of the Kennedy Space Centre.
Astronauts aboard the shuttle were repairing and upgrading Hubble for the last time today in a series of spacewalks.
Unseen Lunar Orbiter Tapes
There is no way to summarize how amazing this story is.
Behind the counter of an abandoned McDonalds lie 48,000 lbs of 70mm tape the only copy of extremely high-resolution images of the moon.
These tapes were recorded 40 years ago as part of the Apollo program to map the lunar surface to plan landing spots for Apollo 11 onward. They have never been seen by the public because at the time, they were classified as they reveal the extreme precision of our spy satellites. Instead, all we have ever seen are the grainy photo-of-a-photo images that were released to the public.
Unbelievable.
