I Love Sarah Jane

I Love Sarah Jane is a beautifully shot horror short about love and zombies.

From Slashfilm:

The Pitch: A different kind of Zombie Film. A short film selection of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Jimbo is 13. All he can think about is one girl, Sarah Jane. And no matter what stands in his way – bullies, violence, chaos, zombies – nothing is going to stop him from finding a way into her world.

A life in 42 seconds. Very moving. And yes, that’s Pauly Shore.

48 Hour Films – The Imperial

Dead City Films’ Washington DC 48 Hour Film Project Entry.

This film was written, shot, edited and produced in 48 hours.

A genre was drawn out of a hat (detective/cop) and the universal line of dialog “we’re hoping things will change” , prop (ID badge) , and character Coach Ivan Pagoda.

Photo Documentary

This short, Photo Documentary by Hannah Bailey, reminded me of two things: how powerless I was to resist falling in love with her for 90 minutes when I watched American Teen last year (she was one of the teens followed in the film) and how if you don’t like Van Morrison, you need your head examined.

Voxel

“Voxel” is a great short film by director team Ubik,  created for the f5 festival in New York.  I can safely say it’s the second-coolest thing I’ve seen set in and indoor swimming pool facility recently, after the incredible ending to Let the Right One In.
