It seems like there are a lot of websites out there with the whole “talk a band into doing an unconventional live set” and film it (see Black Cab Sessions, Pink Couch Sessions, Laundro Matinee, etc.). They’re all pretty great, but La Blogotheque has some real stand out stuff. Their gimmick seems to be live, spare arrangements of the artists work done in a public setting and filmed beautifully. Everything about this video of Phoenix performing 1901 off their recent album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is utterly captivating. See the rest of Phoenix’s La Blogotheque videos here.
