Merge Records released these two previously unseen clips of Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum playing live in 1998 at the Knitting Factory in NYC. Sometimes I think people blow his craziness out of proportion, but then you see videos like these and it’s hard to tell if he was just having a bad day or if you’re seeing a man on the brink of something bad.
